Phi Phi Bonita Resort

The place looked post-apocalyptic, and the photos must be really old. The pool was half empty with green, stagnant water, and the whole property seemed abandoned. How is it listed as available for nearly $200/night? It's on top of the mountain and isn't walkable. My wife and I basically died just trying to get there. Going back down sounds even worse, with a vertical staircase of approximately 5,000 steps. You also have to pay to pass through Viewpoint 1. The location is absolutely psychotic. I wish I'd taken photos.

The room had all the amenities we needed, and the rooms and pool were beautiful. Service from the manager La was outstanding, though his English is OK. The resort had only opened a month ago, so there weren't many reviews yet. When we arrived on Phi phi, a man holding a 'Bonita resort' sign took us to the shuttle, even though we hadn't told them in advance. The shuttle to town and back is free and takes around 6 minutes. It's a 2 minute walk from the viewpoint, and great value for money.

The cottages made the stay feel grand and personal, and the place itself is beautiful, quiet, and away from the crowds. The amenities are very nice for the price. Staff were sweet and cooperative, though communication was a problem. They offer free rides to and from phi phi centre at set times, with a small fee for other times. All in all, totally recommended.

It's a small, remote place with newer rooms, and the setting is peaceful if you want quiet and don't mind being away from everything. The property itself is nice, with about 10 little houses, and very clean. Management were very nice and did their best to help. But if you want easy access to beaches or food, this isn't the place for you. Google maps shows two locations for it, so check the real location carefully. It's close to a high viewpoint, not the beach. When we arrived, someone helped with our bags, then it was about a ten Minute walk to the pickup spot. The ride is a small cab truck where you sit in the back, not a regular shuttle. In rain, you can get soaked if more than two people are riding, so bring a rain jacket. From there, it's another 10 minutes on a dirt road. The truck only goes up and down every few hours, unless you pay 200tbh to go down. If you're on the ground and need to get back up sooner, there's no good option besides walking or trying to call the hotel. Our fan unit was above a furniture closet, so we didn't feel cool air for a few hours. The shower drain is near the toilet, leaving the washroom wet much of the time. This place is great for peace and quiet as long as it doesn't rain, but getting to the beach or food isn't easy.
