A lovely lady who owns the hostel gave us a shot after check-in, which was hilarious and a nice gesture. The morning views were great, and I had good bunkmates too. For a hostel, you get what you pay for, and it lets you stretch your dollar.

The owners were really friendly and offered advice to everyone. But the beds were the worst I’ve ever slept on. Mine sagged in the middle, and I could feel the metal springs and wires. There’s no common area, so it feels cramped, especially with bunks three levels high. I’d suggest getting a private room in Koh Phi Phi instead.

This was our first hostel, and we couldn’t have picked a better place. The private room was perfect, the location was great, and the staff were top notch. Thanks to Jason, his lovely wife, and everyone else for making our short stay so enjoyable. We just wish it could’ve lasted longer. See you soon!

We paid for two beds in a nine-bed dorm, but got one tiny “double bed” in a dorm with twelve beds and about twenty other people in the room. It was basically just the beds, lockers, and a TV, with nowhere to sit and no common area. The air conditioning swung between too hot and too cold. They advertise free alcohol, but it’s only shots, no beer, and you have to walk two minutes down the street to reception to get them. We thought the European owners might make for a better hostel, since I’m European too, but the setup is a joke. They cram too many people into a small room to maximize profit, and after we complained, we still didn’t get what we paid for. We felt ripped off. Avoid this place.

Jason, the owner, was an amazing, down-to-earth guy who knew a lot about the island and helped us plan our day without wasting much time. We stayed in the nice new rooms, though their small, narrow layout didn’t make them a place to hang out. They worked fine for keeping our things and sleeping. I noticed a lot of flies in the shower, though maybe it was just when I was there. Since the place is next to a jungle, it shouldn’t be too bothersome if you can put that aside. If I go to Phi Phi again, I’d consider returning.
