Harmony House - Hostel

The room was roomy and clean, with a comfortable bed, good AC, and soap, shampoo, and towels for me and my girlfriend. I paid 1600 THB for two nights in an AC room, which was below the usual high-season rate of 2000-2500 THB. I had to cancel one night, and the woman at reception kindly refunded the 1600 THB. I would’ve stayed longer if I’d had the time.

A simple, inexpensive hotel that does the job for the price. There’s a balcony where you can sit with a cold beer in the evening. It’s about 50 metres from Phi Phi town’s busy streets, one street back from the main tourist area, and the path to the island viewpoint starts right beside it. Nothing special, but adequate for a crowded island.

There was hair under the pillows and the bed was dirty. When I asked for it to be changed, the staff seemed annoyed and were very unfriendly. I wouldn’t come back.

We had a pleasant stay as five people, despite the mixed reviews I’d seen beforehand. The room was average, but the AC was excellent, and the price felt fair. A kind woman on staff especially went out of her way to help, and the staff overall were friendly. There are shops and restaurants on the lively street outside, though it gets noisy at night, so earplugs could help. A good-value choice if you’re after a budget place with helpful service.
