Phi Phi Anita Resort

Breakfast was disappointing, with few choices, and they didn't replenish the food even though 45 minutes remained before service ended. The hotel only serves breakfast and has no restaurant. The location is the big draw: just a few meters from the beach, where there are fire shows and parties at night, with lots of good restaurants and eateries within walking distance. Our room was spacious and had a lovely balcony. Housekeeping could be a bit better, but it's still a great choice mainly because of where it is.

The staff were kind, and someone met us at the docks to carry our belongings to the hotel. The room was okay, the bed was comfortable, and we got what seemed like a good deal online. The bathroom had an odd shape, and the grounds are minimal, basically just a long path leading inside. There was some construction during the day, but it wasn't as bad as some reviews made it sound. The major problem is the music. A loud, booming rave goes on nonstop from 9 PM to 3 AM, and the earplugs provided don't block the bass shaking the walls. At sundown the staff disappear and a barrier goes up saying guests only as the Frankensound Rave surrounds the complex. This isn't much of a resort, more somewhere to leave your things while you're up all night. If you want more than four hours of sleep, I'd head to the west side. It's a party area, and smoke is everywhere. If you like loud trance music and constant smoking, this might suit you. The nearby beach also doesn't have the clean water found on the southern side. The staff were nice while they were around, but the place wasn't for me.

The staff were nice and helpful, and the central location is great. But the nearby bars make it loud at night, and there's construction noise while the hotel is being renovated. I wish they'd pause the work during breakfast. It might do for a night or two, but I found it lacking for the price. Avoid room d38 if you can, the bathroom smells horrible.

The location is good, and the rooms are okay with nice balconies, but the shower was very weak. Construction was going on, and our so-called garden view looked out on people working with metal. Since it was late in the day, we had to either upgrade or cancel, so we paid for the upgrade. It's close to Ibiza house, with nonstop music from the morning, and parties continuing at night on the other side.
