Phi Phi Cozy Seafront Resort

The resort feels cozy inside and out, and during the day it's almost like paradise. There's an outdoor gym, and you can buy very cheap soft drinks or beer at reception or from your fridge. When we arrived, we got concierge help at the port, and the same on the way back. We were also given two bottles of water per person and a couple of snacks. I'd been skeptical after reading the negative reviews, but we ended up having a wonderful stay. At night, you really can hear the bar next door. The hotel provides earplugs, though, and we slept very well. I'm a light sleeper who normally goes to bed at 22:30, and I didn't hear anything with them. My one gripe isn't really the hotel's fault: of all the people I saw enter the pool, only one showered first. That's pretty tragic. A bigger sign beside the pool might help. We paid a 1000 baht key deposit and got it back without any trouble. We had a nice time overall and would return if we visit Phi Phi again.

The location is excellent, close to the central area, and the hotel view is great. But the room is small, and the facilities don't feel worth the money. There were ants and other insects throughout the room, and there's no mirror in either the room or bathroom, so we had to use our phone camera instead. They should improve the facilities and serve guests with a smile. Other than that, things were okay.

My four-night stay was a bit of a lottery. The first room was awful: dirty walls, an unclean floor and old carpet tiles that hadn't even been vacuumed. I asked to move, and to their credit, they moved me right away to a better room for one night while they waited for another to open up. It was much nicer than the first, but didn't have the ocean view shown in the pictures. The last room I stayed in was nicer still and matched the listing. The real issue was the noise. The club down the street and other guests kept making noise until 4am, so I couldn't get a good night's sleep. I'm glad I had noise-cancelling headphones, because the earplugs didn't cut it.

Save your money and book somewhere else. I paid through Agoda for a Sea View room, but all I could see was a wall and an old tree. There was no sea view at all, which felt like completely false advertising. The staff were rude and unfriendly, and seemed interested only in taking money. I didn't feel guests were treated with respect. There was no service, hospitality or care. This place could ruin your holiday.
