Phi Phi October House

The glass doors let corridor light pour into the room all night, so sleeping was impossible. The room itself was shockingly bad: tiny, dark, peeling wallpaper, broken lights, and mold on the walls and inside a fridge still full of crumbs and food left by a previous guest. We had booked a higher-standard room with a balcony for 8 days and paid 50 euros per night, but it was nowhere near any kind of standard. After spending the morning walking, we were too tired to search for somewhere else at 3pm, so we spent the “night” out and moved to another hotel early the next morning. At check-in, a worker changing the lobby floor handed us a key and only said the room was upstairs. The receptionist/manager was nowhere to be found, and other people were also waiting for her to check in. We complained to Agoda, who said the owner never answered their calls or emails. When we confronted him at his Italian restaurant next door, he was unpleasant, blamed us for losing a rental even though Agoda had paid him for the room, and offered no apology for the misleading photos or the disruption to our stay. We lost the next day finding and moving to another place. Never again rent a place from Italian people, they don't care about customer only money. They are nice meanwhile you pay, when there is a problem they will turn around and leave you with it and get angry if you dare to complain about something. If you want a good standards, great treatment and nice personal always rent with Thai people!

I wish I could rate this zero, or even below zero. There were six beds but only two power outlets. The bathroom wasn't clean, there were loads of mosquitoes, and the staff were unfriendly. The hostel has no entrance door, so your room door is the only one between you and outside.

It's right among the shops, yet surprisingly peaceful. I'm a light sleeper and still slept well. The pier is a two-minute walk away, with all the bars about a minute away. Basic, but clean. I'd happily come back.

The bathroom was nice, though the shower could have been done better. The room was clean and the staff were pleasant, and the AC may have been stronger than necessary. The balcony isn't much of a place to sit because the outdoor AC units make it hotter than outside, but it does work for drying clothes.
