The rooms have no AC and get direct sun all day, so they become so hot that you can barely stay inside from 11am until dark. What bothered me most, though, was how unwelcome we felt. The staff were extremely rude for no reason, as if our simply being there was a nuisance. I had plenty of other complaints too.

The hosts are the reason this place deserves its fourth star. They were honest, lovely, and incredibly helpful. The house was kept very clean, the bathrooms and showers were fine, and the beds were comfortable. Rooms are spacious for the price, and some have air conditioning and fans, though the accommodation is a little dated. From the second floor, the view over much of phi phi town is lovely, which suits the name The Scenery Guest House.

The staff were really friendly, which helped make this okay for a 2 star hotel. The shower water had a slightly odd smell, though, and the room isn't lightproof. If you like sleeping in, that could be a problem.

Getting there means climbing quite a lot of steps, which could be rough with big bags or suitcases. The location is okay. The room was clean but smelled a little damp, and the rooms are very basic. The shower water absolutely stinks and leaves you feeling dirty afterward.

This may be the cheapest place on phi phi, but showering there never made me feel clean, and the room felt sweaty and unclean. At check-in, the woman was very rude. She tried to charge us 200 baht per hour for late checkout even though we were staying two nights, and she didn't apologize.
