I had a great stay at tapear. It’s a calm, chill place away from the noise, with a fantastic view. The owners’ hospitality really stood out: I left my charger in the room and had already gone to krabi before I realised. I contacted the owner and owner manager, and they sent it to me there. That’s rare, and it shows how good these people are. I recommend it to anyone looking for a great view and wonderful hospitality. Cheers.

For a budget traveller who’s okay with low standards, this is a great cheap place to stay in Koh Phi Phi. The location is handy, close to the centre but not crowded or noisy. You get a clean bed and bathroom, a balcony, hot water, a microwave, and free coffee. The bed is very hard, though. If low standards aren’t for you, this won’t be a good fit.

I booked this last minute when I arrived on the island. The people were really nice, but the room lacked a lot. As soon as we switched on the lights, it was full of bugs, and the lack of AC was obvious. I’d suggest choosing somewhere closer to the beach.

It’s quite a hike to reach, and some rooms don’t have AC, so double check if that matters to you. The view is great apart from the retention pond. Good gems are hard to find, especially ones with everything you need. This is what Arnold Schwarzenegger would call the dungeon, real and raw. Games can be made there, or you can maintain. It’s exactly what a guy needs to work out with or girl.
