Braya Villa

We spent three nights at Braya Villa, and my fiancée and I both wished we’d booked more time. It’s such a relaxing place, full of luxuries, with an infinity pool and a jet spa. You can play badminton or bocci, or just toss a ball around in the big pool. Breakfast was made for us each morning and was delicious, a lovely way to start the day. The staff were the best we’ve met in Thailand, humble, considerate, friendly, grateful, and ready to help with anything. The bedrooms have very comfortable large beds and lovely views of either the beach or pool. We loved the three showers, with the choice of indoor or outdoor setups. One bedroom even has a sliding roof, so you can look at the stars or wake to the sunrise. Skylights, bi-fold doors, and big windows bring in plenty of natural light, and the air conditioning throughout the home is powerful and works fantastically. The villa was spotless and clearly well cared for. There’s a billiard table by large open windows, and it’s a great place to spend time during the day or evening. You can play board games with wine by the pool, order a meal, or walk about two minutes to what we thought was the island’s best restaurant. Braya also offers in-villa massages at an extra but very reasonable cost, and you can have one wherever you like, even by the pool. Getting there took us about 30 minutes by speedboat from Phuket to Koh Yao Yai, then another 15 minutes by car or taxi to the villa from the marina. The island has beautiful beaches and felt much less crowded than other mainland islands. We’d suggest at least four nights at Braya, though five to seven seems ideal for enjoying the villa, Koh Yao Yai, and nearby islands like Koh Yao Noi. Three nights here in March 2019 just wasn’t long enough, so I’d recommend staying at least five days. From the thoughtfully chosen fittings in the villa to the gorgeous infinity pool and its view, I couldn’t find fault with the property. The service was sincere and attentive, and this was one of the most enjoyable holidays I’ve had. Thanks to all the staff who helped us. We’ll be back.

Nine days in paradise, and our most luxurious experience so far. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed, and very well equipped, with complete privacy. The infinity pool was large and had stunning views, while the food and service were excellent.
