Elixir Koh Yao Yai

Pool Villa 204 was roomy, private, and very comfortable, and we loved relaxing in its private pool. The staff were so friendly and attentive that we felt welcome throughout our fantastic stay at Elixir Resort Koh Yao Yai. It’s a peaceful spot with a beautiful beach, ideal for a quiet getaway. We’d definitely return and highly recommend it.

The resort’s setting was probably the best we’ve ever experienced, right on a quiet, beautiful beach and very relaxing. We stayed five nights in April in beachfrint pool villa 115. It was clean and tidy, with an outdoor shower and bath, and the pool was amazing, just a few steps from the beach. We rented a scooter from the hotel and explored the area, and also had a lot of fun taking the hotel’s cooking class. At night, the 2 for 1 drinks in the Tiki bar were lovely before dinner by the beach. The dinner choices were good, and there are lots of local restaurants nearby too. Staff service was great, and I’d highly recommend it.

Elixir Resort has a certain charm, but I wouldn’t call it a luxurious retreat on a private island. Its facilities, food and drinks, and concierge service aren’t impeccable or especially refined. The resort reflects the peaceful, rustic character of Koh Yao Yai, which is part of what makes visiting the island appealing. Come prepared for friendly dogs and cats, and perhaps other visitors too. The staff, location, garden, and local wildlife all give you a sense of what the land has to offer. To me, that’s local hospitality.

We spent a few days here and would stay again, despite a couple of problems. The hotel was nice, though it could use some small renovations, and the beach was very good. We liked the pool bungalow. One day, the ice cubes left me feeling unwell that night. The next day, our neighbor burned plastic rubbish, and the smell of it filled the whole bungalow.
