KC Grande Resort & Spa

KC Grande has a fantastic location and a lot of potential, but the Hillside section needs renovation to match the price. The contrast with the beachfront side was striking, and I wish the room differences were explained more clearly. Guests booking Hillside should know the standard differs from what the main marketing photos suggest. The beach area is beautiful, with stunning White Sand Beach, amazing sunsets, and well-kept pools and public spaces. Breakfast had a good selection, and the restaurant staff were friendly and professional. Our room was in Hillside, though, and felt old, with dated buildings and surroundings that seemed neglected. It didn't have the atmosphere you'd expect at a 5-star resort, and felt more like a 2-3 star stay for a 5-star price. The playroom and other facilities also looked heavily used and outdated, and several areas seemed tired and in need of refurbishment.

The location is hard to beat. The resort sits on a beautiful stretch of beach and feels quiet and intimate, while a 7-Eleven, bars, restaurants, and rentals are right nearby. After exploring the island, I think KC Grande is Koh Chang's most beautiful hotel. We stayed in the Seaside wing on the ocean side, and I'd recommend it. The rooms are spacious, modern, and have that premium island feel. The pools are spectacular and well maintained, with lovely views. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, and had a huge range of choices. The place was very clean, and the staff were great. For a stay close to everything that still feels like a private paradise, this is the place. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The garden is a nice place to relax, and if you're lucky you can find a sunbed with a direct sea view. People often reserve loungers early, then don't show up for hours. We had a quiet room on the fourth floor in the Hillside sea view building, which was perfect. The staff were lovely, and the hotel was lovely too. We stayed nine nights and had a great time. The Beach restaurant does an excellent breakfast and is also good for lunch and dinner if you don't feel like trying the other nearby restaurants.

We spent nine nights here with our 9-month-old baby, and the whole family had a wonderful holiday. What stands out most is the staff, who did so much to make us comfortable. When our daughter got fussy at breakfast, someone would come carry and entertain her. That's just one example. Thanks for everything, we'll be back. The location is handy, not too far by car from the ferry, with a 7Eleven, coin laundry, and lots of restaurants next door. You can walk around White Sand Beach, and take taxis for anywhere else. Our room was clean, quiet, spacious, and comfortable. The pool and gym were great, the breakfast selection was rich, and the restaurant food was delicious. You can eat by the pool. There's also an air-conditioned playroom for kids, with mats, stacking bricks, ball-pool balls, and plenty of other toys. They clean it every evening.
