Seafar Resort

The grounds are attractive and well cared for, with a pretty pool, spacious rooms, and reliable cleaning staff. The beach is lovely, calm for children, and gives you a little space to walk around. The resort is some distance from the town centre, so walking there takes a while. Food was the biggest problem. Much of it was sugary, western dishes didn’t vary, and local food and restaurant meals were average and rather expensive. Some dishes not marked spicy were very hot, and some that looked vegetarian, like garlic potatoes, had bacon in them. Breakfast staff often didn’t pay attention. We had to find the baby chair ourselves each time, from a different place, and clean it fully. Plates were left uncleared, and staff rarely checked whether things like coffee needed refilling. One rather skinny masked worker was the exception, always engaged and helpful. It felt as if there were a few too many staff overall. I mention this at length because the hotel we stayed in before was much cheaper and gave us a completely different experience.

The staff made our stay, so attentive, warm, and welcoming. The beach was stunning, clean and calm, and there were paddle boards, canoes, snorkels, and more available for free. The pool was very well maintained too. Our rooms were spacious, with daily room service bringing fresh towels and water, and the AC was a lifesaver on the hottest days. There was a huge variety of delicious food, plus a small cafe and bar alongside the restaurant. Complimentary breakfast every morning had a good selection that changed from day to day.

The bungalows were spacious and clean, though our bathroom was a bit worn and smelled a little. The shower could have been better. It wasn’t awful, but for one of the pricier options I expected a higher standard. The location right on the beach is lovely, and for me it’s one of the best sunset spots on Koh Kood. There’s a nicely done pier, a beach bar, and some hammocks. All in all, it was a good stay and I’d come back, even just for a good beer at the pier at sunset.

We came as a big family group of 23 and rented about 10 rooms. We loved our seven days here and made great memories together. The staff are quite young, but there were smiles all around for the whole stay, and the entire team came out to wave goodbye when we left. We visited in July during rainy season and had a few rainy days. There was plenty of space in the restaurant area for board games and chatting. Getting from the pier to the resort was easy, and we were greeted with cold drinks. Cold water and toast were available throughout the day, and the swimming pool was awesome.
