I spent four nights here and loved it. You stay in bamboo huts surrounded by plants. They're simple but clean, and some have their own bathroom. The owner is what makes it feel like a real homestay. He'll cook for you and do what he can to keep you comfortable. His English is great, so we could have proper conversations. The guest comes first here, rather than making as much money as possible. It's a delightful place if you're tired of packing and unpacking, traffic, rushing, and planning.

I've been here three times now and plan to keep coming back. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and the service is incredible. The host even prepared everything gluten free for my friend, who said it was the nicest meal she'd had in Thailand. A lovely escape from the city that makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.

The hut gave me a quiet place to read, with almost nothing but birdsong and rustling leaves around me. The host was friendly and helpful, and I'll definitely return. As someone living in Bangkok, I need a calm place to unwind now and then, and Cast Away was just right. The huts sit over a muddy area that can flood at high tide, and there may be a faint smell. There are also HUGE mosquitos, so bring bug spray if you want to be close to nature and enjoy some quiet time.

The host speaks English very well, is friendly and ready to help, and gives you plenty of privacy. It's a lovely island so close to BKK, and I think it's worth visiting at least once. We slept well in the secluded, quiet spot, with birds, frogs, and crickets around us. But music from a pagoda festival on the mainland woke us at 6:00 AM. The owner said it was only happening that week, so it should be fine at other times. We paid 1,400 and 1,600 baht for rooms that included dinner and breakfast for two. The cozy bamboo rooms had very comfortable beds, balconies, towels, air con, fans, and mosquito-netted windows. There are two shared bathrooms, both very clean, with hot water, shower foam, shampoo, conditioner, caps, and lotion. No bugs or spiders! 🕷️ Dinner was delicious local food cooked by the owners' family, with four dishes. Breakfast was great too: basil rice with two eggs, sausages, and bread and butter. Coffee, tea, and water were available to drink freely. The location is on the west side of the island. From Homepro Chaiyapruk, the nearest bus station, a taxi to Wat Yai Sawang Arom pier was 54 bath. The little ferry across the river cost 10 bath per person. If there's no 10 bath boat, call the owner and he'll arrange one. The market is lively and full of culture, about a 40 minute walk away. They provide bikes to explore. On the way, there are great views, shops, workshops, and lots of friendly, cute dogs that bark to welcome and sniff you. Bring bug spray if you want to sit outside at night and watch fireflies. ❤️

I spent one night here during my Thailand trip, and staying here for the last overseas trip of my 20s became a good memory. I'd stay again if I get the chance. It's surrounded by nature, a relaxing place to wind down after a long day in the city. The owner speaks English fluently and a little Japanese, so we had a great time talking about our countries. The homemade food was delicious, though I was too full to finish it. 🙏 From the pier near Wat Yai Sawang Arom on the opposite side, it's about a five-minute boat ride and walk to the guesthouse. The boat doesn't run on a regular schedule, so you'll need to ask someone nearby to arrange it. On the way back, the owner will call a boat for you. The fare is 10 baht one way.
