El Pillax Lanta Resort

We were glad we'd kept our booking. Before arriving in Thailand, some negative reviews had made us nervous enough to consider cancelling, but the cancellation window had passed. After two days here, we're very happy with our choice. It's a small, beautiful resort right by the sea, and the staff are extremely friendly. Almost everyone speaks English very well. The grounds and rooms are clean, and we appreciate that food is prepared in a kitchen enclosed in glass. We arrived at high tide and found the place as beautiful as we had imagined. One small note: at low tide, rocks and similar features show up in photos of the sea, but that's true along the whole coastline.

We came back after a delightful stay last year, and the Khlong Khong Beach-front setting is still a pleasure. The grounds are lovely to look at, and the furnished, covered patios make each bungalow especially nice. It's blissfully quiet, with birdsong and gentle breezes, and the turquoise horizon seems endless. You can swim in either the resort pool or the sea. The staff are friendly and quick to help, and the buffets offer a delicious range of freshly prepared food. A long walk along the beach takes you past plenty of eateries and beachfront massage options. We'd love to visit again.

Mummy Banana Leaf and her team looked after us with real professionalism, warmth, and care. We had the evening buffet, and both the standard and variety of the food were superb. Buffets usually aren't my thing because I'm allergic to nuts, but they assured me I would be safe, and I was. It was such a treat. The meat and seafood are beautifully barbecued, and there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices. I'd love to stay here next time I'm back in Lanta. It's in an epic spot right on sunset beach. The setting is wonderfully peaceful, right on a sandy beach by the sea. Each evening the resort offers small activities that fit naturally with the surroundings and add a nice touch. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with what seemed like high-quality ingredients. Everything was spotless, from the room to the common areas. The staff were warm and friendly, and even on my first visit it felt like coming home. Other guests seemed relaxed too, as if they were at their own vacation home. A beautiful, clean, welcoming place. I had a really good stay and will definitely come back.
