Baan Jai Dee Beach Front Hotel

We stayed for six nights in February 2025. The astonishing view meant we could watch a beautiful sunset from the pool or restaurant every day. The location made it easy to reach any beach on the island by scooter, and a taxi from the port cost 150 THB per person. Staff were friendly, and breakfast choices were good, though they sometimes forgot or mixed up orders, and simple breakfast dishes took a long time to come. The street is noisy, and traffic can be heard in rooms right beside it. There’s also a new resort being built next to Baan Jai Dee, and the construction gets loud at times. The rooms are furnished in Thai-Standard style.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel felt cozy. The coworking room was nice too. But the rooms felt dated and nowhere near what I’d expect from somewhere called “Deluxe.” Our internet kept dropping about once an hour, and the water went out three times in one day. The staff handled it badly: there was no notice, no extra water when we needed it, and nobody answered the emergency number I called.

We chose this for our final week on the island after stopping in to look at the rooms. The balcony view over the ocean is invigorating, and the beach setting gives the hotel a special feel. Getting to the rooms without passing through reception also made it feel private, almost like apartment living. The other guests we met were friendly, and evenings were quiet. WiFi was very good, and there was a useful workspace in the room. We did have some trouble with ants. The hotel supplied powder that deterred them, though they still find their way in. It didn’t spoil our stay. Staff were kind whenever we spoke with them. We didn’t use the pool or bar, so I can’t comment on those. We paid 8,000 baht plus a 2,000 baht security deposit for a week, which felt like great value for such a lovely room. Weekly and monthly rates are available. I’d recommend staying here for either a short or longer visit.

The food at the bar was delicious, everything was spotless, and the staff were so thoughtful and kind. We also loved the pool and coworking space. Our spacious, nicely decorated bedroom was wonderfully quiet, so we slept really well. And the sunset view, with what felt like a private beach just steps from the room, was stunning. Such a great experience, highly recommend.
