Buakao Inn

The rooms were nice quality, with comfortable beds, and were cleaned well. Service was good, and the location right on the thong sala walking road was ideal. Just be aware that staff stop serving guests after a certain time at night. We checked in about 15 minutes before we would have had nowhere to sleep. Aside from that, we were pretty satisfied.

It’s very clean, and they tidy the room, replace the towels, and leave two bottles of water every day without you needing to ask. The location is handy too, right by the pier and close to shops, restaurants, convenience stores, and ATMs. The downside is the noise. Music goes on until 2am-3am, which makes sleeping hard, and since it’s on the second floor of A’s famous, you can hear staff moving things around when the restaurant opens early. Otherwise, I’ve got no complaints and would probably stay again.

Mike is very professional, and the diner and rooms are great and feel secure. It’s a little noisy at night, but that’s no problem. Right in the middle of everything, so getting around is easy. A great place for a night before heading home or setting off elsewhere on the island.

We often stay here when we arrive, before heading elsewhere for longer stays. The staff are amazing, and the owner, who has been on the island for nearly 30 years, knows a lot about life on Koh Phangan. The rooms above A's Famous Diner are clean, spacious, and affordable. It’s a long-time favorite among veteran visitors, with the pier, night market, shops, and both Friday and Saturday Walking Street all within walking distance.
