Jungle Hut Bungalows & Hotel

The long infinity pool overlooking the ocean is my favorite part of Sea Garden Resort 2. I love relaxing and swimming there, especially at sunset. The place has a peaceful, welcoming feel, and the staff are always so kind. I've been coming to Koh Phangan for years and keep booking here because it feels like home. There's a roomy lobby to sit in and an air-conditioned bistro where I can work comfortably for a few hours. The food is delicious, and it's a lovely spot for using my laptop. There are several room types. The bungalows are beautiful and have their own terraces, but I prefer the stylish rooms. They're spacious and nicely decorated, with room for a yoga mat and a comfortable work setup. Housekeeping comes every other day with fresh towels and bed linen, and they provide drinking water each day. There's also a large scooter parking area. The resort is right on the main road and easy to reach, without steep or rough hills to climb. I've stayed here so many times that it really is my home away from home. I always book the same room and expect I'll keep coming back for years. Highly recommend it from the heart.

I booked four nights through Agoda, but checked out after finding that being in the room made it hard to breathe. I wondered if there was damp or mould, and a look in the corners made the problem obvious. The ceiling also seemed to have been painted over to hide water leaks. I asked reception to move me, but they had no other rooms and wouldn't refund me. They wanted to charge for all four nights because the booking was non-refundable. Reception also refused to contact Agoda.com to confirm that I'd checked out. One star for the service, and even that is too much for the rooms. Stay away.

From the first day, I tried to avoid the receptionist as much as I could. Don't ask her for an extra towel, a taxi, help with check-out, or anything else. She seems happier if you leave her alone. If my boyfriend or my friend needed something, they dealt with her themselves. I kept things to a simple “good morning” or “have a good day,” and nothing more.

I spent eight days here and really liked it. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and cleaned every two days. The staff were so kind and welcoming, and it was good value for money. The location suited me and was quiet enough to relax. I stayed in a few different rooms, but didn't take pictures of them. Here's an iced Thai tea from the hotel's restaurant, with the most stunning view. I'd definitely stay again.
