The place is magnificent and full of detail, but also completely abandoned. I read its history, yet seeing it left that way still feels wrong. The beauty is all outside, across the site, not in the hallways or rooms. Definitely worth a visit.

The pool is clean and nice for a swim, and the restaurant food is good quality. The views are amazing, the hotel looks fantastic inside an old temple, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are dark, the shower is very weak, and the wifi is particularly poor. That made it difficult to look up nearby places without a Thai SIM. It's a decent place for a short stay, but it's out of the way, with steep, hilly roads nearby. You'll really need to rent a bike or take taxis everywhere.

The big drawback is the hillside location. There are lots of stairs and no elevator, which isn't much fun on holiday. There are also a lot of insects around the hotel grounds. Still, the hotel is beautiful and unique, and it seems like a lot was invested in it. There are several pools, the rooms are cozy and clean, and the crew are generous, pleasant, and helpful. This is a difficult review to write.
