The location is superb, and the food was okay. Lily and the other restaurant staff were outstanding, and housekeeping was excellent. Reception, though, was unfriendly and seemed to think highly of themselves. We were charged 400 baht for an alleged bloodstain on the sheet, but there wasn’t one. I’ve seen other reviews saying this happens often, so watch out for these little rip-offs. That cost the service rating a star.

Our room was very nice, with the sea right behind the hotel. The bar, restaurant, and cleaning staff were friendly. Reception felt cold and transactional, without the warm welcome you’d expect at this level. It reminded me of dealing with staff at a 711. They could use customer service training.

After a long trip, we arrived with our whole family, including my 82-year-old grandpa, and only then learned the pool area was being renovated. We asked politely for a small compensation, but they refused, so we had to find another hotel. At this price, guests should be told about such an important detail beforehand. If you’re planning to stay soon, check whether any work is going on.

The hotel looks unique and beautiful, and the room photos were accurate. At reception we got a warm welcome, help with our luggage, and someone showed us to the room. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. I only stayed one night, though, and couldn’t have managed longer with the problems we ran into. The pool wasn’t operating, and guests were told to use pools at nearby hotels. That’s disappointing when a pool is advertised as one of the hotel’s facilities. In our room, the toilet gave off a horrible sewage smell every time it was flushed. After we came back from dinner and showered, the smell made it impossible to stay in the bathroom or room unless we kept the bathroom door shut. The shower also drained very slowly, leaving water pooled for a long time. I reported it to reception. Someone came up, but their proposed fix was lots of deodorant and a scented candle. That felt like a cover-up, not a proper solution. I expected the hotel to move us to another room and repair this one before offering it to anyone else. I also didn’t find the receptionist friendly or reassuring. Their grimace made me feel as if I’d done something wrong simply by raising the issue, instead of getting a smile and a sense of responsibility. Aside from these problems, the hotel is quite nice, and I’m not trying to shame it publicly. But offering rooms and facilities in this condition until the issues are actually fixed feels unacceptable and unprofessional.
