Zama Resort

The balcony had loads of space, and we could take in an incredible view from our room, the pool and the restaurant. There were plenty of places to relax upstairs, too. The rooms were neat and tidy, and the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was included and really good. We enjoyed all the restaurant meals we tried. There were several gorgeous, friendly cats, all vaccinated, visibly loved by the staff and treated kindly. You can get down to the beach, but it’s rocky, so we didn’t swim there and used the pool instead. There’s plenty of scooter parking, and everywhere is a short drive away. We had a great stay at Zama and would definitely recommend it and come back.

For €140 a night, I expected a lot more from the rooms. They were very run down, and the bathroom needs a full refurbishment. The hotel either needs to put money into renovating them or charge budget-hotel prices. The pool area was decent enough, but the jacuzzi looked abandoned. The service was mostly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was in a lovely setting with wonderful views, and breakfast was outstanding: made to order, with delicious banana pancakes. It may have been the best hotel breakfast I’ve had.

The all-day à la carte breakfast runs from morning until 5pm, which was great for sleeping in without rushing. We even had it after a day at the beach as a refreshing break. Staff were lovely, always smiling, and the service was excellent throughout. We stayed in the sea-view corner room, No. 18, and the sunset from there was stunning and unforgettable. There are some steps to climb, but we enjoyed them as part of our daily walk, and the staff kindly carried our luggage up and down. I mentioned just once that my husband doesn’t eat bananas, and after that his fruit plate always came without one. That kind of thoughtfulness made for a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

The hotel’s restaurant was the best we tried in all of Thailand. We ate there throughout our stay and still wanted more. Our room and the pool area both had stunning views, and the staff were friendly with great room service. We felt special here. It was easily our favorite hotel, and we’ll definitely come back.
