Blue Moon House

The staff were great, and communication was brilliant, but I wouldn’t return to this studio room, especially at that price. It was nicely decorated and away from road noise, yet there was barely any furniture, so I lived out of my suitcase for four nights. The water pressure was low, the shower was mounted at Thai height, and the room wasn’t cleaned or the towels changed during my stay. Once a day they left water and toilet paper on the table outside. Light came through the glass door all night because there were no blackout curtains and the outside light stayed on from 6pm to 7am. I needed an eye mask. The refitted outer door didn’t close fully, so mosquitoes could get in. The outdoor chairs were uncomfortable and there was no shade from 9am to 4pm. Staff walked past the seating every couple of minutes in the morning to use the washroom next door, and they sat on the floor about 2m away chatting over breakfast at 8am, so there wasn’t much peace. In the evening, flies from the street sewage system about 3m away made sitting outside unpleasant. There are much nicer, quieter places by the beach for less money.

We’d just moved from another hotel and were really glad we picked Blue Moon. It’s quiet, clean, comfortable, and in a great spot, and our host was lovely and incredibly helpful. My one small suggestion would be to put a mirror in the bedroom, since the one in the bathroom is very dark. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

Friendly staff, and they offer guests the best price on motorbike rentals. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with everything close by. It’s about a 7 minute walk to the pier and Sai Keaw Beach, right near all the action.

The room was very clean, and the beach is just a 10 minute walk away. Had a wonderful stay at Blue moon hotel and will definitely return when I’m visiting Koh Samet.
