The location is convenient, but the service was so bad I’d rate it below sea level. The older lady who owns or runs reception was very rude and crude, and used really harsh words. Our TV didn’t work when we arrived and was still broken when we left. The room wasn’t clean, they didn’t clean daily or change the towels, the toilet was tiny, and the AC made a loud noise. They didn’t even have coffee, which I’d consider a basic thing for a lodge. We asked the hotel workers about renting a ladies’ Scooty. One quoted 300, then the price was said to be 400 THB. When I asked if they could do 300 THB, she sarcastically and rudely told us to get it somewhere else. There’s a lot that needs improving.

We stayed in the Rainbow Inn building. The room was small but clean, though some shelving would have helped. The staff were friendly, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the spot by the pier is great. Scooter rental cost more than it did by the pier.

Probably the best budget place around. It’s clean enough, though not spotless, and both the AC and hot water worked. The owner was friendly and helpful, and they rent motorcycles. My only real gripe is that the bathroom walls stop short of the ceiling, so the air can get a bit heavy.

The room, mine was i3, was really small, especially the toilet. It’s an older place, but it was kept clean. From outside it made a pretty good first impression, and it’s close to the docks without being far from the main village.

The room had a slight musty smell, but I still enjoyed spending the night here. I arrived around 5-6pm, walked to Sao Keaw beach and enjoyed the island life along the way, then had dinner and drinks on the beach. The next day I rented a motorbike for three hours to see the island, which was sufficient. It was the cheapest room with AC I found on the island, at 850B in low season.
