We had a lovely table on the beach, and the food came quickly. Some of the best we’ve eaten in Thailand. The Thai Frappe cocktails were amazing, definitely recommend them.

The location is hard to beat, and the rooms are a good size. Service, though, is basically absent. Whether you’re at a table or stretched out on the beach, you have to walk all the way to reception to ask for a refill or pay. They only come over if they’re closing. There’s no laundry service, which is why I gave a low rating. I spilled something on the bedsheets and they wanted a 1000bath penalty. Be careful with your things and don’t eat on the bed, or keep things safe in the room, and you should be fine.

Ko Samet is quiet and really beautiful, with plants everywhere. The beach can get crowded by Chinese day trippers, but once they leave in the evening it feels like a tiny Ko Samui, with beach restaurants and a few bars. It’s a good place for a few calm, relaxing days. You’re right by a superb beach and centrally located, with everything you need within walking distance. Staff are friendly and try to make the stay pleasant. There’s no pool, but I didn’t find that necessary. Deck chairs are included, and there’s a restaurant on the beach. The rooms are simple but have what you need: a small balcony, fridge, and lockbox. The AC is clearly audible and could be quieter.

I can only speak for the restaurant, not the rooms. I’ve been on the island for 10 days, and Jirawan is definitely my favorite. I’m picky about restaurants and service, but here the service was good and professional, and they paid attention to what I prefer. I tried the Thai food even though I’m not usually a fan, and I really liked it. I also tried the pizza because I’m Italian and was missing it. It was good too. The location is great, with nice music that isn’t too loud. Dinner has a particularly nice atmosphere. I still have a few days on the island and will definitely have my dinners here.
