Samed Villa Resort

The food at the resort was amazing, and the staff were great. We asked for two spare pillows and they arrived in the room within two minutes. The rooms were spacious and had good amenities. We loved the beachside loungers, though you need to get there early to claim a spot. You can’t reserve one with a towel, which I completely agree with, so make sure you’re ready to stay once you pick a seat. The location is awesome, right at the end of the bay on the quieter side of the island, with lots of families around. Kayaks and SUPs are available to rent at the hotel. For laundry, the massage ladies on the left side of the resort can help. We dropped ours off at 17:00 and got it back at 12:00 the next day. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend the resort.

Thailand seems to make every place an obvious tourist spot, but we prefer holidays a bit away from the main ones. Samed Villa Resort still seems to draw a less noisy crowd. It’s right beside an amazing beach and makes an excellent choice.

Almost perfect, except the bar outside plays music very loudly until late. We could hear it clearly in the rooms near the beach and couldn’t sleep. If you book one of those rooms, it feels more like staying in a party hostel, and that should be stated in the booking options. We thought we’d picked the best room, right by the sea, but the evening noise made our stay unpleasant. We much preferred the rooms farther back.

The setting is scenic, with beautiful water and powder-soft sand. The room was clean, though a bit dated, and the bed was comfortable. We’re here in high season. There was a problem with the safe, and a gecko in the room, but both were taken care of immediately. The restaurant was a disaster: horrible food, slow service, and prices that were too high for such bad meals, even allowing for island prices. The website pictures show loungers with umbrellas, but those aren’t here. A wooden chair costs 100 BHT, with another 100 BHT deposit. The pool is nice, but there are no chairs, and its tiled floor is hard and slippery. There are lots of trees and plenty of shade, so you have to follow the sun if you want it. I’d never pay 100€ a night to stay here.
