Searide Hotel

Only real plus was the location near a nice beach. The hotel is nowhere near 4-star, yet it cost 1200-1600 THB/night, and I paid an extra 300 THB at check-in to avoid being stranded. Agoda rated it massively too highly. I searched and booked a room for 2 adults on Agoda, but the confirmation showed "Booked capacity: 1 adult" for a single room. That was clearly a platform error. I called the hotel right away, and they demanded another 300 THB for the second adult or told me to contact Agoda. Agoda said only the hotel could cancel or refund, while the hotel sent me back to Agoda. It was a total runaround. I then tried to cancel with the hotel and make a new booking for two adults. They refused and said to call Agoda. Agoda wanted "proof" of my search for two adults, even though their platform has no search logs, and the app showed a 92% cancellation fee, leaving just an 8% refund. They rejected my waiver request as a loyal customer. Agoda and the hotel teamed up to scam me: a glitchy booking, extra fees, no support and no refund. I'm an Agoda VIP Diamond member and spent $3,428 on bookings in Asia, Thailand and India, over the last 2 years. That's not a small amount, and this is how they treat me? I posted this same review on agoda too, though I don't know if they'll make it public.

Wong Duan Beach, also called « Crescent Moon », is a beautiful white sand beach just a few meters away. The hotel's standard is nice, with reasonably spacious rooms and very good quality beds and linen. It's run by a lovely family. They have a speedboat, which is reflected in the name. For groups, they can arrange snorkeling trips and travel to and from the mainland at Banpei. I can only recommend it.

Really liked it here. It's peaceful, and a nice beach is close by.

I booked a room for three two days before Songkran, and it was much better than I'd expected for the price, especially during the festival. It was clean and not old at all, with new beds, blankets and towels. The accommodation was up to standard. There may not be many review photos, but I didn't find anything wrong myself. I'd recommend it for budget travel. It's also close to restaurants, so finding food is easy.
