Baan Samlarn

We spent a weekend here with the family, and the photos really don't capture how beautiful the place is. Khun Fon and the staff were terrific, and the chef made delicious food for every meal. The beach was clean, with clear, beautiful water that was great for snorkeling and kayaking. It's a bit far from Chaweng beach and the city center, but if you're after a relaxing trip with family or close friends, there's no need to go anywhere else.

We stayed at Baan Samlarn for 10 days at the beginning of April, and it's one of the best holidays I've had. A big part of that was the villa staff. Fon and her team were professional, warm and friendly, and worked hard behind the scenes with lots of little touches that made everything feel just right. The beach is lovely, and the pool and green areas are kept immaculate. The chef made some of the best Thai food I've tasted. We let him choose the menu on a few nights and he never let us down. I can't recommend the place enough.

We spent two amazing weeks here and held our wedding at the villa. I can't imagine asking for more. The staff were the kindest people and gave our babies constant attention, always going out of their way to make sure we had a great time. They greeted us with big smiles every morning. If we were having beers by the pool, they'd bring fresh melon and a cooler of beer without us asking. They also added lovely little wedding touches, including roses and swans in our room that night. The villa was gorgeous, with spacious rooms that were all different. The beach is practically private and sits at the end of the garden, with kayaks we could use for free. The outdoor dining area was great, and we spent most evenings down the garden together around the seating area. The pool was huge and visible from every room, so even people in the living room could chat with those swimming. The fish by the front entrance made a lovely welcome too. The food was incredible, especially the Massaman curry and spring rolls, the best I've had. The chef had a big menu, so our group could try different main dishes each night over the two weeks. Breakfast was always amazing, with lots of different fruit cut into intricate shapes. They even made sure our two babies had special food. There's so much more to say, but I'd just tell you to go as soon as possible!

We came for a family wedding and honestly, this villa is perfect. The staff are amazing, and the sunsets are breathtaking. It's a hidden gem and well worth a visit. Five-plus stars.
