I really liked Baan Rom Mai and will be back. The staff were lovely, the price was very reasonable, and the pool was excellent. My bungalow was a good size, with a large bathroom, a fridge about two-thirds of full size that could actually hold things, and an air conditioner that looked new and worked well. It's at the northern end of Chaweng, just across the road from the beach and set back a little, so it was nice and quiet. There used to be several reasonably priced bungalows along Chaweng Beach, but almost all have disappeared and been replaced by very expensive resorts. This was a great find. There's a 7-Eleven right outside on the main road and a couple of restaurants nearby.

It's close to a lively area but still peaceful, and the staff are really nice. We enjoyed the relaxing pool area. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable, and the price was good too. We'd happily stay again.

We loved staying here. It's a laid-back spot on Samui, with lovely grounds full of trees and a pool that has a jacuzzi section. The staff were so kind and friendly, and our room came with a fridge and kettle. They brought us fresh water every day. I'd happily recommend it.

Avoid this place. The pool wasn't clean, and the room was disgusting. The shower only had cold water, while the soap was stuck up near the ceiling and hard to reach. The shower and toilet area was low enough that I hit my head on the wall. Even the charger socket was literally on the ceiling, which I'd never seen before. There was a kitchen but no tools in it, so what was the point? One of the worst stays I've had. Do yourself a favor and don't go.
