The students were friendly and clearly tried hard, and our private room had towels folded into an origami swan, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was decent, with a European buffet and eggs cooked fresh when you asked. The quiet setting is good if you want to avoid loud parties and tourists, and there are nature trails nearby. The place supports the college students, which made me hesitant to leave a negative review. They deserve a chance, and I hope they can learn from feedback and improve. We did run into a few problems in our private room. The sheets and towels had black stains despite being washed, and a little bleach would help. There was no toilet paper, so we took some from the shared bathroom. That bathroom’s bin hadn’t been emptied and still had food scraps and banana peels from previous guests. The shower flooded the bathroom because the floor doesn’t slope toward the drain properly. It wouldn’t drain without help, and there was no squeegee, so I used my foot. The walls are thin too. We could hear people in other dorms, in the hallway, and bikes arriving outside. A cat meowed loudly in the hall late at night, so earplugs are necessary. It’s a budget place, but you can only get there by bike or taxi. A lot of people without bikes were hanging around the front entrance, sometimes drinking and smoking weed. You had to walk past them to come and go, and the smell of weed first thing in the morning was unpleasant. I’d recommend staying only if you know about and are okay with these things.
