Chor Chang Villa Resort

We spent 9 nights in a hotel room at Chor Chang and were very happy with the hotel, the staff, and the neighborhood. The room is basic but works well: there are sockets by the bed, a large desk, even an outlet on the balcony, a fairly big fridge, and a shower with good hot water. The A/C units worked surprisingly well, and the cleaning was thorough. My long dresses had to go under the stairs because the wardrobe was a bit short. I would have liked another floor or desk lamp by the sofa, but that’s a small detail. For coffee, HOM at the nearby Kitalay resort is an easy morning walk and makes excellent cappuccino, Italian level. Across the road there’s a nice laundry where you can also buy extra water, plus a good Thai food place for lunch or dinner, just 1-2 minutes away on foot. It’s a bit of a walk to the beach, with a slight uphill on the way back. There are several massage places along the route if your feet get tired. The location is probably perfect if you rent a scooter, which is also available across the road. We had no trouble getting a car, taxi or grab, for our outings. I’d recommend Chor Chang to anyone looking for a friendly, comfortable stay at a good price.

The 1-bedroom villa was clean and cozy, just right for a couple’s getaway, and it had everything we needed, including a comfy bed, fridge, and nice balcony. We could use the pool whenever we wanted. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the place exceeded our expectations. Definitely recommend it for a chill break.

The hosts were quick to respond and helpful, so check-in was a breeze. We loved the 3 bed rooms villa, especially the spacious rooms, gorgeous pool, and stunning views. It was also a great base for exploring the area, and the amenities made the trip really relaxing. Would recommend, and would stay again 😇

The manager threatened us with defamation claims after our stay, despite there being clear video of the interaction. We’re sharing this so others know what kind of service we encountered. It was a deeply disappointing and unexpected experience, and we’d advise caution when considering this hotel. When we arrived, we found that the hotel had not managed availability properly on Booking, so our two-night stay was split between two separate rooms. The manager first offered us a villa, which we appreciated. Since we were a group, we needed a little time to work out how to divide the rooms. As we asked questions to understand the setup, the manager grew impatient. Our friend, who had made the reservation, called to explain our preferred arrangement, but he kept interrupting her. When she said she hadn’t finished, he rudely said he was the owner, that he would speak, and that she should stay quiet until he was done. Then he abruptly hung up. Things escalated when we asked him to take a moment to calm down. He got more agitated and threatened to cancel the booking altogether, which felt completely out of proportion to guests simply trying to understand their accommodation. His behavior was intense enough that we felt we had to document it. Once he noticed he was being recorded, he changed his demeanor and began blaming us, saying we were disrespectful. The experience did not reflect the hospitality and kindness Thailand is known for.
