Jinta Beach Samui

The beach is about the only thing of note within walking distance, and it was just okay, with better beaches elsewhere. The mosquitoes here were ravenous and everywhere, and the room AC units felt weak and dated. When we arrived, the property manager started burning a huge pile of trash in the front yard. The smoke engulfed the rooms, and burning the garbage is illegal. I couldn’t stand it, so I booked somewhere else. I’ve attached a picture of the trash fire in the front yard. There also seemed to be just one property manager, who barely spoke English. Right after we arrived, they tried to put us in a smaller room.

Quiet and private, and only a few steps from the beach. The accommodation is right by the sea, and although the water may not be crystal clear, it’s clean enough. Rooms are inexpensive and about what you’d expect for the price. They weren’t spotless, but were livable, and the mattress springs may be a bit old. My friend, who is Korean, visited Koh Samui alone for the first time and was very happy with her stay. The owners, an uncle, aunt, and their son, looked after her so well. They chatted and had drinks with her, and even took her out for noodles. If you want somewhere peaceful and homey with a bit of traditional Thai atmosphere, you could stay here. There’s a lovely private beach too.
