We left feeling unwelcome and out of pocket. The owner said our deposit would be returned if new tenants arrived within the next month, and they did, but we got nothing back. Then we were charged for several days of cleaning, electricity, and water. We had already negotiated the rent down from 15,000 baht a month to 12,000, which still felt ridiculous, and the owner kept our one-month deposit because we left a month early. The house itself was old and dark, with broken furniture, a worn-out mattress, and an old, dirty AC. At first the owner wanted us to cover AC maintenance. It was poorly equipped for a long stay, and most things we asked about were left up to us to buy. We got our own sheets, pillowcases, and blankets because the ones provided were old, dirty, and in bad shape. Months later, the owner asked for his sheets back, saying he suspected we hadn't sent them to be washed and dried. He seemed more worried about those old sheets than making us comfortable. Even small amounts of sand in the pool led to discussions. The owner kept comparing the place to a hotel, which was a poor joke to us. Hotels welcome guests and make them comfortable, especially when they're earning good money from them. There was also a fair a few hundred meters away from time to time, with loud, relentless music going on for days and nights for weeks, sometimes until 1:30 am. There are much more comfortable houses at more reasonable prices around the island. Don't go here.
