Samui Bamboo Garden Bungalows

We were left dealing with mosquitoes while we waited at the front desk, trying to sort out a really stressful situation. After paying cash and seeing the room, we asked for at least two of the three days’ money back, but they refused. There was no apology or understanding, and the owner wouldn’t refund us. The place was run down, with cracks everywhere, poor maintenance, and unsealed screens. It didn’t feel safe or secure, since someone could crawl in through the window. One of the property managers even went into the room just after we paid to spray cockroach spray, then acted as if it were scented room spray. The owner was in Spain, and using “call property” in the app actually called Spain and used up our phone plan in a second. The owner and the people at reception don’t speak English. The owner was also texting the property staff to call the cops on us. This was a horrible, traumatizing experience. They seem to make their money through zero cancellation and zero customer service, consideration, or understanding. Do not stay here or book!

Save yourself the trouble and don’t book a room here. The photos don’t show the place as it really is. We paid cash for three nights, then found a dirty room with a broken door, an unsecured window screen, and bugs getting inside. When we asked for our money back, they refused and said they would call the police. We spent an hour trying to negotiate and got nowhere. Do not stay here.

The location is central, with an easy walk to fisherman's village, but the bungalows are old and quite run down. It didn’t have much of a social feel either. With proper maintenance or a refurb, I think it could be good.

We left early because the traffic noise kept us awake all night. The accommodation is right beside a very busy main road. The owner made no offer of a refund and hasn’t even replied to my complaint email. Don’t stay here, there are much better and quieter places nearby.
