Samui Bayview Resort & Spa

The view was the only thing that earned this one star, and even that wasn’t worth the stay. We had problems every night, and management didn’t seem to care. There was sand on the floor when we arrived, then a cockroach in the bathroom even after we were moved to another room. The bathroom stayed dirty despite a promised deep clean, and the curtains and surfaces were grimy. When I wiped the nightstand, the tissue came away grey. I doubt the curtains are ever washed. A giant poisonous Vietnamese centipede came out of our sink. We had to ask for a room change after that, and my boyfriend had to ask whether they could offer any compensation. Only then did they agree to free massages at the resort, which cost 400 Baht outside it. The air conditioner also kept failing, even after they supposedly fixed it twice. The manager is in Bangkok, so getting anything resolved was nearly impossible. The front desk ladies were kind and tried to help, but all they could say was that they’d ask the manager, then come back with a no. The assistant manager on site was unfriendly and seemed just as unconcerned. We tried to find somewhere else after the centipede, but everything was booked. Book elsewhere and take a grab over for the view.

For two weeks our room stayed spotless, and the staff were so polite and helpful. We had a lovely sea-view room in a really peaceful spot. I absolutely loved it. Thank you.

Getting to the room felt like climbing Everest, since the whole resort is built on a mountain. We also had to move because the first room had a rotten smell that wouldn’t go away, but the replacement room smelled the same. I’d never book this place again. Stay far away.

A lovely resort, with a beautiful view, kind staff, and great accommodation. Breakfast was very good, and the pools were nice too. It’s a bit far from Chaweng, but there wasn’t much else to complain about.
