The breakfast was frankly disgusting: low quality, poorly prepared, and nowhere near what I expected from a hotel in Thailand. I also found the room poorly equipped, with only three pillows. If you want another, they charge you to rent one for the week. It felt like every small thing was another excuse to get more money. They rent scooters without gasoline, so you pay to fill the tank and leave fuel behind for the next guest. Pure scam. The staff were the worst part. Most were cold, unfriendly, and unpleasant, with no smiles, greetings, or basic courtesy. I felt unwelcome every day, as if guests were a burden. The manager was the only exception, polite and smiling. This place had no hospitality, warmth, or respect for guests. There are far better places in Koh Samui, where you’re treated like a person instead of a walking wallet. Don’t book this hotel, rent scooters here, or arrange activities through them. I stayed for one week in Koh Samui, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment you arrive, the place feels like a trap that tries to charge you for absolutely everything. I strongly regret staying and would never come back.

At this point, I feel stolen from and taken advantage of by Samui Verticolor. I tried my absolute best to resolve the billing issue, but they say they owe me money and still refuse to return it in the same kind of payment I used. As a customer, I felt forced to leave this Google review and dispute the charge with my credit card company. I’m truly at a loss for words. I’d been staying at the property for seven days. As a Nomad, I like to stay flexible, so even when planning a month somewhere I usually book no more than one, two, or three days at a time rather than commit longer. Today, 30 minutes before checkout, I went downstairs to extend by one day. They quoted 1800 baht for the exact same room I’d booked the day before for 1200 baht. I asked why the price had jumped so much between my Sunday (12/21) booking and a Tuesday (12/23) booking. I’d booked 12/22 on the Agoda app for 1200 baht as well. The agent said rates changed daily according to high and low season, and the manager set them. I really don’t think high season starts on 23 December 2025, but is based on occupancy and demand. Still, okay. I didn’t know if this was a scam or an honest mistake. Sure enough, two hours later, while I was napping, I got a call in my room saying I’d been charged too much and should come downstairs to correct the bill. I thought they’d refund the difference, and I could be on my way. Instead, they said they couldn’t give my money back because the hotel’s financial report was already completed. They pressured me to take credit for drinks or food at the pool restaurant bar, or apply it if I stayed longer. The hotel only accepts baht, which is why I paid in baht. Now that they owe me money, they want to repay me with coupons for overpriced food and drinks, or inconvenience me by making me move my things from one room to another. Totally unacceptable.

They rent scooters without fuel, so guests pay to fill the tank and then leave that fuel behind when returning the scooter. It felt like an obvious way to save money at the guest’s expense. The biggest problem was the staff. Most were cold and unfriendly, making no effort with guests. There were no smiles, greetings, or basic politeness, and I constantly felt like I was bothering them just by being there. The manager was the only person who seemed to understand hospitality. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had in Thailand. From the first day, the place felt like it was trying to charge for every possible thing. It lacks warmth, professionalism, and respect for guests. There are many better options in Koh Samui. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being treated like a walking ATM.

For what I paid, I’d happily stay again. The place isn’t the newest, but it’s well maintained, with good parking and a large pool. The rooms are clean and spacious, and breakfast is included and reasonably good. Staff were friendly and helpful, too.
