My favourite hotel in Samui. The owner is kind, friendly, quick to reply, and takes great care of guests. The room was clean and spacious, with a sealed balcony that kept out the main road noise and blackout curtains that helped me sleep. The entrance is locked, which felt secure. I’d have stayed longer if it hadn’t been fully booked. Such a nice stay, and totally worth it. Thank you so much!

Giuseppe, the owner of Gecko Hotel, made my stay memorable with his extraordinary kindness. I rarely leave reviews, but he went out of his way for me. I’d accidentally booked two rooms, and even after I cancelled the reservation, he offered to hold the room for me. He greeted me warmly and gave helpful local advice, including about scooter rentals. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and convenient for getting to the airport. When I had an early flight, Giuseppe offered me a ride there, which saved me from the difficulty and likely higher cost of finding a driver that early. He replied right away whenever I texted. When my phone stopped working and I needed my boarding pass for the next morning’s flight, he printed it for me without hesitation. I’m definitely coming back to Gecko Hotel. The people, especially Giuseppe, made the stay.

A very good budget hotel, about a 25 minute walk from the fisherman’s village and its beach. Even though it’s on a main road, noise wasn’t a problem. The rooms were very clean and had a fridge, cutlery, kettle, and microwave. The air con and fans worked great, and the Italian owner was friendly. There are a couple of supermarkets nearby. For good local restaurants inland to the east, turn left out of the hotel, then take the first right after about a 10 minute walk.

The owner was so welcoming and lovely, and everything went smoothly throughout our stay. We really liked the spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and quiet, well-placed location. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it.
