The house has three floors and four bedrooms, plus parking for two rental cars and a private pool. Unfortunately, the pool gets no afternoon sun, and the small garden or sun deck isn’t really somewhere you can sit outside. The basement bedroom wasn’t very cosy or comfortable for sleeping. You could hear the pool pump, and the window curtains didn’t block enough. Hot water also didn’t work consistently. Staff stayed around the house for 12 hours a day, and the activity woke us at 7 in the morning.

We were nine people, and the free laundry with a dryer was a nice bonus. The rooms were cosy and the area was mostly quiet, though a few of us could hear frogs or insects outside. The sound insulation wasn’t great. Some parts of the rooms looked a little old, but they were generally fine. There was also a smell from the pipe in the main room’s toilet. The main room’s lock was in poor shape and could lock from the inside. One night we came back and couldn’t get in. We contacted the landlord and were told to break the lock to enter, since apparently no one could help that late. The locks should have been replaced sooner, or at least we should have been warned. Electricity cost quite a lot. That’s nobody’s fault, but the villa used that much with nine of us, even though we were out most of the time.
