The Canale Samui Resort

The service stood out. If something goes wrong, call reception and someone will be at your room in about two minutes. The staff are nice, and they bring good food. The hotel itself is decent. The rooms aren't anything special, and breakfast is much the same, but both are okay. It's a bit far from the center unless you enjoy a long walk.

I've been at the canale hotel for five days, and after reading the comments I expected something harsher. In fact, everything's been very good. The staff are so nice, the rooms are comfortable, and it's quiet. At the end of the Chaweng, the hotel has a nice mountain view, and it's about a 15-minute walk to the chaweng st. I'd recommend it to couples or solo travelers who don't mind the extra walk. I really enjoyed it, and the price feels worth it.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and having a room with its own swimming pool was convenient and really nice. But the water supply problem made for a low rating. We had no water from our second night until the afternoon of the third day. When it finally returned, it only trickled out cold. With our baby, we really needed a proper shower that night. Booking.com said a baby cot was free and available on request, but it was under repair and unavailable. That caused a lot of inconvenience for our holiday. The pool water was rusty too.

The musty mold smell in our room was awful and seeped into all our luggage. The staff were unfriendly, and although there were no cockroaches in our room, we did spot one in the hallway. This was a huge disappointment and definitely not a four-star hotel. I don't recommend it.
