Jane was helpful, and the property itself was comfortable, with a lovely quiet beach and plenty of amenities close by. The stay still had some serious problems: we lost electricity for a day with no warning, then had no water for nearly two days. No compensation was offered for the disruption, even though the stay was expensive. These properties don't seem to have a backup plan for guests like hotels do. That could be difficult if you're travelling with children.

A week went by so fast that leaving was tough. Alistair and the whole team were wonderful, from the manager and cleaners to the gardener. We loved the beautiful beach, and Sunset Massage, just a minute up the beach, was fabulous. Bailey, the dog who belongs to the people out the back, was a sweetheart too. We were sad to say goodbye to him, and we'd love to come back one day.

We had such a good time at The Moonrakers and hope to return soon. It's right on the calm, pleasant Mae Nam beach, with modern houses that were perfectly clean. A short walk along the sand takes you to restaurants serving tasty Thai and international food, plus nearby beachside massage parlors. :-)

Alastair looked after us well, and we loved staying here with the kids. It's peaceful but still close to restaurants, with an exceptional location right by the beach.
