Chintakiri Resort

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we had an amazing stay in clean rooms with no bugs. The location is great and the views are beautiful. Renting a scooter on the island is an absolute must. We'd come from freedom relax resort, where the staff were unfriendly and the rooms had bugs.

We booked Chintakiri Resort on Booking.com because the price looked good with breakfast included, and the overall rating was solid. From the breakfast area, the pool, and our room, the view straight over Chalok Baan Kao Bay was breathtaking. The staff were lovely and helpful, and they arranged a boat trip around the island with several stops for the day after we arrived, with pickup right at the entrance. The road up is steep, as we’d read, but it’s short. We rented a scooter at reception, so we never had to walk it. Bottle Beach and Shark Bay are nearby, too. We’d seen comments that breakfast wasn’t very varied, but we found it complete, with plenty of dishes to choose from.

The rooms are huge, and the staff were really nice. There’s a 7/11 nearby, along with loads of good cafés, restaurants, and motorbike rental places. I even walked to Shark Bay from here. The climb up is steep, but the view from the top makes it worth it. And the sunsets from the rooms are something else, easily some of the most impressive island views I’ve seen. I’ll be back.

The infinity pool was clean and had another amazing view, and the rooms looked out over a great one too. We had big, soft beds and really good showers. The staff were so friendly, carried our bags to the room, and helped with everything we asked about, from laundry to transport and a motorbike. Breakfast was delicious, and they’ll make you a takeaway breakfast if you’ve got an early dive. I didn’t want to leave. This has been our favorite hotel so far on our trip through Thailand.
