Field-d House

We ended up extending our stay three times because we loved the place so much. The rooms are spacious, with great bathrooms, and everything was clean and fresh when we arrived. They'd bring fresh water and clean the room each day if you wanted. Breakfast was just what we needed, served buffet style over generous hours. We rented a motorbike from the hotel and fell off it, and Jennie and Zay couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating. They made sure we were okay and handled everything easily. They were lovely throughout and gave us island recommendations. The hotel is in an ideal spot, across from a seven eleven and set back from the busy road. Amazing from start to finish, highly recommend!

The bed was huge and so comfortable, and having our own little balcony was nice. The view was lovely once you looked past the construction site. Shops, food, coffee, and scooter rentals are all easy to reach, just off the main track. There's construction from 8 AM to 5 PM every day. I understand they're improving the hotel and building a fantastic pool area, but bring earplugs if you're staying. The water pressure was awful on the first day, but they fixed it after we complained, and it was okay after that.

There was no privacy at all, and the curtains had to stay shut throughout the day. Noise started at 8 every morning, with construction and housekeeping staff shouting and banging nearby. I asked at reception about the noise beforehand and was told it wasn't much, which simply wasn't true. I booked two months ahead and still got what seemed to be the worst room on the property. I only learned on arrival about the work directly in front of it. They said construction had been going for a week, but reviews show the pool has been under construction for months with no progress. There was no compensation. Over 100€ a night for a room barely worth three stars is completely unjustified. The stay wasn't relaxing, and I'll share this so others know.

Save your money and believe the bad reviews. I booked the “superior double room” months ahead and requested somewhere quiet, but there was constant worker noise right outside and no privacy. Staff were unhelpful, especially the woman at reception. Housekeeping didn't come until we practically begged. For three mornings, they turned the sign to “do not disturb” and left toilet paper on the terrace. The Wi-Fi barely worked, the shower and sink flooded, the sewage smell came and went, and there were ants in the shower. It's apparently quite far from the city center, though close to the pier. Terrible experience. I wish I'd listened to the Google reviews.
