Admission was 20THB, or you could buy food or drinks, and there was lots of seating. It was very quiet when we visited. We went in the evening, on the wrong side of the island for the sunset, but the view was still spectacular. I’d recommend coming for sunrise or earlier in the day.

They ran after us and shouted that we couldn’t go anywhere because the whole top of the hill was their property, even though we were only passing through to see the view and hadn’t gone into their “restaurant.” Crazy. One star, and I’d avoid giving money to these rude people. There are other viewpoints at Tanote. In response to the comment below: you’re lying. You ran after us while we were passing on the motorbike and yelled, “this is my property, you have to pay,” even though we were on a public street.

I had a speedboat to catch, so there wasn’t time to wait an hour for change. I only had 20 and 1,000 baht notes, and they said they couldn’t make change for the 50 baht entrance fee. There was no offer of another solution, just a dismissive instruction to leave. I arrived 10 minutes before sunrise to see the viewpoint and was met by an unwelcoming staff member. When I asked for tea or coffee, I was told neither was available, though the fee was still required. It was a disappointing start to what could have been a pleasant visit. The place itself might be worth seeing, but the service and attitude need serious improvement.

The view is beautiful and the service was nice. I only came to see the view, not to stay in a room. I liked the seating options. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it, and the uphill motorbike ride was easy.
