Lub d Koh Tao Tanote Bay

The staff were the highlight, and Kiat especially is a treasure. He deserves recognition for his excellent customer service. When I arrived, my leg went through the terrace and got a little hurt. They helped right away, gave us a voucher, and started renovating the terrace the next day. They handled an unfortunate situation in a way that made us feel well cared for. Thank you, Lub d staff, for a great stay we’ll remember. Our family room was spacious and clean, with a huge balcony and very comfortable beds. The location is excellent for snorkeling and a relaxed beach holiday. The beach, corals, and sea life were stunning, with no weed smell or party noise. We really enjoyed the food at Lub d restaurant, both Thai and Western. Breakfast was the best we’ve had, with things like perfect eggs benedict and avocado toast, which you don’t often get to order in Thailand. An absolute gem with great service.

We paid $120/night in low season for what felt like a 2 star resort, and there was no buffet breakfast as we’d found at other resorts. The food was very average, while the rooms and facilities, including the pool and restaurant, were in poor shape. Service was okay, but the price was far too high for what we got. We stayed 3 nights and definitely made a mistake. One and done. This resort is absolutely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

The beach is right there, with clear water and sea life to swim among. People come by boat from around the island to visit Tanote Bay, and we felt lucky to have such a sought-after spot on our doorstep, including part of the beach set aside for the hotel. At first I thought the price should bring a more luxurious feel, perhaps an onsite spa, plus little room touches like hair conditioner. After a week, I understood where the value was: the things you need are provided to a very high standard. Cleanliness, Wi-Fi, and staff service were all premium quality. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and nothing seemed too much trouble.

It’s a very beautiful bay, with a lovely view and beach. The large room had a really comfortable bed, and the staff were very friendly. The complex seems especially suited to divers, with its own diving school. You’ll definitely need a scooter because it’s quite isolated. The breakfast buffet was very limited. We stayed 10 days, and salmon was listed on the menu but never available. When we asked about it, nobody responded. The internet was also very slow and unreliable.
