The CK Hostel

Please don’t stay here. The bathroom was covered in mold, the rooms are huge but have no curtains, and the air conditioning swung between too hot and too cold. Breakfast was really bad, and the whole place smelled of cigarettes. The hostel felt unsocial, with reception either empty or unreliable, and parts of it randomly closed off.

The common area is really nice, and the bathrooms and bedroom were clean. It’s a friendly, social place. The bar downstairs made things a bit loud, but earplugs worked fine for me since I live in a city. The hostel staff were quick to reply and helpful with setting up activities and other services. A friend did have ants in her room, though I didn’t have any issues.

The staff were lovely and did their best, so this is for management. I was looking forward to the Friday ‘Open Decks’ event I’d seen advertised on their apps and website. I even stopped by on Thursday to check, but everything was confusing. I spent three hours preparing a set, then arrived to find no DJ controller, just a basic multi-channel PA mixer. Apparently the equipment was at a boat party. If you advertise a DJ event where people bring USBs, the gear needs to be there. This was false advertising and wasted guests’ time. Please update your socials when the equipment isn’t available.

The people working at ck hostel made the week for me. Huge thanks to Anna, Patricia and Viktor, you’re awesome and made me feel at home. The activities were a lot of fun too. I’ll definitely come back.
