The Dearly Koh Tao Hostel

At first the hostel seemed huge and impersonal, but it came to feel like a second home. We spent Christmas there, and the party was cozy and fun. The staff were friendly, and the hostel was super clean with large rooms. Daily shuttles are a great idea if you don’t want to scooter, want to discover new beaches or sunset bars, or just want an easy way to meet people. The rooftops are amazing too. I think it suits people in their 30s who don’t want to be around drunk 18-year-old backpackers at Sairee Beach. There are lots of restaurants, scooter rentals, and 7/11s nearby. Thanks for making me feel at home on Koh Tao! Just watch out for the holes along the roadside in front of the hostel so you don’t fall in.

There was a lot here to make traveling easy: tasty, useful breakfast, a refreshing pool, and daily excursions that made it simple to explore the island and meet people. Thanks for everything. I’ll definitely come back to Dearly Hostel if I find myself in Koh Tao again!

The diving was the highlight for me. Aaron was a wonderful instructor who put me at ease, and I felt proud of what I accomplished. The hostel itself is spotless and comfortable, with a social atmosphere that doesn’t feel like a party. WiFi is excellent for remote work, and the staff are so welcoming and always willing to help. There are thoughtful touches everywhere, from daily free shuttles and breakfast to yoga mats in the rooms and seasickness tablets when you leave. I’ve stayed in many hostels in Asia, and this is my favorite by far. I can’t fault it. Huge thanks to JJ, Aaron, Jane, Picky, Ivy Sara, and everyone at the Dearly. You’re an amazing team. We spent two weeks in the dorms and extended our stay several times. After nearly four months traveling around Southeast Asia, this is our favorite hostel. The workers were incredibly friendly and always smiled when they saw us, and we met some great people there too. They arrange plenty of activities and run daily shuttles to the beach, so you don’t need to worry about driving a scooter. In our opinion, this part of the island has a much nicer island vibe than further north. We’re a couple and will absolutely stay here again whenever we return to Koh Tao.
