The Box House

We had a terrible four-night stay at The Box House Krabi, and it felt disappointing and unsafe from the start. The owner came into our room without knocking or warning while I was changing. He didn’t apologize or respect our privacy. We felt so uncomfortable that we called the local police, who came and settled the matter. We didn’t feel safe for the rest of the stay. The room was filthy and wasn’t cleaned once during all four nights. The bathroom floor flooded every time we showered, towels were never changed, and toilet paper wasn’t replenished. We spent a lot on a Thailand holiday and ended up in a bizarre, extremely disappointing place. It’s absolutely not worth the money. I strongly recommend staying away from The Box House Krabi.

A really enjoyable stay, and I recommend the hotel. It’s a bit away from town, and the beds are big and long, though quite firm. The lady seemed genuinely sad when I said I didn’t need daily room cleaning, but she kept checking and supplied fresh towels and toilet paper anyway. In high season, be careful, as they may run out of bikes for rent.

Such sweet people, and the room was really clean. They also provide fresh water. It’s a super chill area, good for resting away from the chaos of krabi. There are lots of great restaurants with good options nearby, and 7/11 is a 15-minute walk. I’d definitely recommend it.

But the worst part was the owner entering our room without knocking, warning, or permission while I was changing. It was invasive and completely unacceptable. He was rude, aggressive, and unprofessional, and didn’t apologize or show remorse. We ended up calling local police because we were so disturbed. Being on holiday and having to involve police just to feel safe in your room is awful. We spent a lot of money hoping for a relaxing trip to Thailand, and The Box House Krabi ruined it. Everything about the stay was bizarre, uncomfortable, and incredibly disappointing. I strongly warn people to avoid it. It’s not worth the money, it’s not safe, and it isn’t managed properly. There are plenty of better places in Krabi, so stay somewhere else.
