Matini Premium Hotel

Poor value for money. The courtyard lotus pond had cloudy, stagnant water, with fish in it, and looked badly neglected. There was a powerful, awful smell inside the hotel, beyond ordinary dampness, almost like a dead animal. It grew stronger past reception, especially toward the far end of the corridor near my room. The room and bathroom also seemed damp and unclean. The sink was clogged, the shower only worked if I opened the valve under the heater, and the soap dispenser was broken and empty. I couldn’t bring myself to shower because it felt too unhygienic. The balcony was in terrible shape. It had an abandoned bird’s nest with droppings, and there was visible mold near the air conditioner drainage area, which smelled bad. On the roof directly below, I saw a dead bird. With that and the smell inside, the whole thing was disturbing, and I couldn’t wait to leave. I honestly wonder how hotel hygiene inspections work here. If an inspector checked this place, I think it would likely be shut down.
