Sibtis Hotel

I asked to move to a room with hot water, but was told none were available. In the end, the technician had to return and keep switching the system on and off, so the water was only hot intermittently while I showered. This all started just after check-in, when I tried to shower and found there was no hot water. A technician came after I called the front desk, but as soon as he left, the water went cold again. When I called a second time, they said it had already been fixed, though it hadn’t. I explained the problem was still there, but the staff member hung up, saying she couldn’t speak English. I was shivering and went downstairs to ask for the manager. They handed me a phone to speak to the manager remotely, which delayed things further.

I liked the hotel stay, but there was barely any hot water, and breakfast service was awful. Breakfast runs from 7am to 10am, yet by 8am everything was gone, with no refills and poor service. If breakfast matters to you, stay away. The staff didn’t speak English and seemed to help Thai guests first. There’s also only one elevator, so expect quite a wait.

The hotel seemed generally good, with relatively new facilities and people who appeared friendly and willing to help. We did have to change rooms at first because there were dead bugs in the bathroom. We were then put in a connecting room, and staff assured me nobody would stay in the adjoining room during our visit. But people were in it the whole time. I didn’t want to go through another room change, though the experience left a bad aftertaste.

Sibtis hotel is fine for a stay in lampang, with a good room and facilities. Breakfast and good internet were included.
