The little details everywhere made this place memorable. There were ornaments, artifacts and sculptures tucked into every corner, and the hotel sits right in the heart of Lampang. Our refurbished room was bright and airy, with a spotless bathroom, a comfy bed and a great hot shower. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, too. I was especially glad to have hot water at the sink and a plug in it. Staff were friendly and helpful, and could arrange a taxi or horse-drawn carriage. Breakfast was fine, but there wasn’t much Thai variety, and it was the same each day during our four-night stay.

The location is good, but I had a bad stay and had to move to another hotel. Management hadn’t told me the water heater was being maintained, and because of my health I need to bathe in hot water. I can’t use cold water. The restaurant food was expensive, as expected, and there were lots of mosquitoes with rainy season approaching. Check-in timing was also wrong.

We left a day early and went to the clean Space Hotel instead. This place was dark, dirty and mouldy. The supposed garden view was just a wall with pigeons, with no garden in sight. The bathroom was grimy, the shower curtain had nasty stains, and the cracked toilet seat pinched.

On our trip through several cities in northern Thailand, this ended up being one of our favorite stays. We loved the garden setting and the big Koy pond, with a waterfall beside the restaurant. Breakfast was included, and the staff were really friendly. We enjoyed everything about the hotel.
