A secluded spot up in the mountains, with a friendly host and a campsite if you’d rather camp. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. It’s great for getting away from hectic city life and having some genuinely quiet, relaxing, cool-weather time to recharge. If you get the right room, you can catch a wonderful sunrise. Bring a book and enjoy the sunlight if that kind of weather suits you.

Doi Isara is tucked into the Mae Chan hills, with picturesque views, fresh mountain air, and the calming sound of leaves and birds. It feels far from everything, but the location is handy for reaching the main attractions of Northern Thailand. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the kitchen serves delicious local food at great prices. There’s also a nice collection of tribal clothing and artefacts on display. The host and staff are wonderful. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the resort for two nights. The room was comfortable and clean, and the beagle puppy left me with a lovely memory :)

Getting there is really difficult, and you need to ask the resort to pick you up. The facilities also don’t feel high quality for the price.
