The quiet, village-like setting suited us, and there are small shops nearby, though the nearest 7-Eleven is about a 15-20-minute walk. The house was clean, well cared for, and cleaned daily. We could use the garden, kitchen, and washing machine for 20 baht. The housekeeper was friendly and helpful, but it was hard to reach the owner, who replied late. The large windows and balcony were a plus, though ours had no chairs or table. Our biggest problem was the scooter. Listings said each room came with one for the whole stay, up to a month, but ours arrived a day late at 2 PM and broke down two days later. It had been hard to start from the beginning and finally stalled on the expressway. The owner said she’d take it to a mechanic but couldn’t provide another because she didn’t have one available, even though only two of the seven rooms were occupied. She suggested taxis or buses to the city center. The scooters are very old and barely functional, and the city is far enough away that staying there without one didn’t feel worthwhile. We’d been promised a motorbike at that price, but ours only worked for two days. The faucet and shower drain were clogged throughout our stay, so water sat there after showering. Our bedding was patched together from other scraps of fabric and could be newer. It didn’t bother me, but it might bother someone else. For such a low price, it was okay.
